TydenBrooks has been playing a critical role in protecting global industries since 1873. From cable seals to tamper-evident plastic tags, they offer multi-layered security solutions that are used around the world in industries such as agriculture, food and beverage production, chemical, pharmaceutical, transportation and even wildlife and fisheries. We pride ourselves on making the world an all round safer place. Our products designed for the latter two industries aim to increase current security measures by abiding to guidelines set by global law enforcement agencies and CITES standards.
With TydenBrooks’ security products at the helm of fishery and wildlife endeavours, authorities have a better chance of keeping track of resources and trade - ultimately creating more efficient practices for all, be it locally or globally.
The Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), is an international treaty created to prevent species from becoming endangered or extinct due to international trade, is a powerful tool for protecting global ecosystems. Global government agencies involved understand the need for increased security against illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and hunting of alligators, bears, deer and many more animals, which deplete resources and undermine food security, particularly in developing countries.
Thankfully, TydenBrooks security seals are among the formidable tools now used to analysis, trace, monitor, and curb illegal activities. These security tags provide a secure solution that help ensure that resources remain sustainable while also increasing overall food security. It’s an exciting time as further technologies join security seals in providing increased safety through improvement monitoring methods to better protect ecosystems across the world.
TydenBrooks’ plastic indicative and metal security seals and tags facilitate the inspection, monitoring, and documentation of commercial supply chains which includes shipments of seafood, taxidermized game, hunted game, skins (tanning), and live specimens. These same tamper-evident seals and tags are used by the global Fish and Wildlife Services to mark animals and species that are to be reported during hunting and fishing.
Most countries have tagging protocols which requires a tagged fish or furbearing animal to either be thrown back or reported upon catch and keep to proper authorities. This helps prevent overfishing and hunting and also supports research by experts to track life spans and travel habits of a specific species.
As a solution oriented company, we would like to advise of some of the seals and solutions that can be used for fishery and wildlife in both recreational and commercial applications.
Shellfish and Fishery Security Seals
If security is vital to your business, look no further than our plastic security seals. Our fixed length Plastic Truck Seal and Tevi Tag are the perfect solutions for tracking and documenting traps used for alligators, crab, lobster, and other shellfish. What's more, they come in a variety of colours with the option of either alpha-numeric numbering or bar coding plus adding your custom logo. By using these security seals you can dramatically increase security, not to mention meeting CITES regulations. We are sure that one of these security seals will provide an ideal security solution for your business!
The Tevi Tag security seal is an innovative security measure that helps secure items in an unique way. Not only can it be produced with paper, vinyl, Tyvek or pressure sensitive label, but the strap is made with poly propylene and offers a strength up to 52kgs! Plus, the 3 inch and 10-inch lengths make sure security measures are at their strongest. Even material like alligator leather hides used by a tannery to meet CITES requirements are customizable to our security seals. Tevi Tags security seals are the highest standard of security available today!
The Plastic Truck Seal is produced with durable temperature resistant high-density polyethylene and acetal which is well suited for applications in seawater and tanning baths as they are resistant to chemical dips and saltwater corrosion. Optional coloured plugs provide an inimitable method of layered security.
For fish tagging such as, salmon, halibut, and striped bass, the adjustable plastic indicative Secure-pull and Secure-grip are applied by passing through gills of the fish and adjusting to the desired loop. Once again, both solutions provide consecutive alpha-numeric numbering or bar coding, name and/or logo, in multiple colours, and supply visual tamper-evidence when any attempt to break the seals takes place.
The Secure-pull is offered in standard lengths of seven-inches and twelve-inches, has a stainless-steel metal locking clip to securely cinch the security seal to the fish, while the large flag provides ample space for marking and bar coding. Equally as durable, but with a higher breaking-strength of one-hundred and twelve pounds, the stainless-steel metal locking clip Secure-grip is supplied in three lengths of seven-inch, eleven-inch, and fifteen-inch. It also offers an optional covert layer of security with dual numbering on the flag and strap.
Furbearing Wildlife Security Seals
For tagging, tracking, and documentation of furbearing game and upland wildlife the Equilok, Tug Tight, and Tyden Ball Seal are the leading TydenBrooks solutions. Beginning with tagging big game such as, dear, elk, caribou, and moose the best solution is to utilize the fixed length Tyden Ball Seal, which is applied to the animals jawbone.
The Tyden Ball Seal has a breaking strength of one-hundred and ten pounds and is produced with a plain tin-plated steel. Most tagging processes utilize the optional coloured ball top or band, with bar coding available on white and yellow bands to add an additional layer of covert identification and security. An additional safety feature to prevent hand injuries, is a rolled-edge band, which is supplied on non-coloured bands.
For smaller upland wildlife, the adjustable plastic indicative Equilok and Tug Tight are ideal tagging security seals which cinch tightly to the animals extremities and can be fastened to hides and taxidermy. The Equilok offers a breaking strength of eighteen pounds, whereas the stronger Tug Tight achieves forty pounds. The Equilok is available in seven-inch and nine-inch lengths, the Tug Tight has four lengths starting at nine-inches, extending to twelve, fifteen, and eighteen inches. Both seals offer high security laser bar coding with an extended flag and can be marked with consecutive alpha-numeric numbering, name and/or logo, with seven standard colours.
